Jarlath Regan is an Irish stand-up comedian. A former graphic designer,[1] Regan began his stand-up comedy career in 2003 and by the end of 2004 was a finalist for three major UK comedy newcomer awards: So You Think You're Funny, BBC New Comedy Awards and the Chortle Student Comedian Of The Year. While attending University College Dublin, he was auditor of the Literary and Historical Society.[2] Since then he has been writing sketches and became a regular face on the Irish stand-up comedy circuit.[3]
In 2006, he performed as part of the first ever Irish gala at Montreal Just for Laughs.[4] He also appears on Scope, an Irish science television programme for teenagers as a fictional investigative journalist and was a panellist during the 2008-2009 season of The Panel.[5]
In 2007, he performed at the annual Cat Laughs Festival in Kilkenny and will perform at the festival again in 2010.[1] and in the Edinburgh Festival in August.
In 2010, Regan began co-presenting The Rumour Room, a new teen entertainment series part of TRTÉ on RTÉ Two television.
